Inner Fire

How do we keep our inner fire alive?
Two things, at minimum, are needed: an ability to appreciate the positives in our life – and a commitment to action.
Every day, it’s important to ask and answer these questions: ‘What’s good in my life?’ and ‘What needs to be done?

Mudança...

There are many rules of life, but two are most relevant to personal growth:
1) Change is inevitable.
2) Everyone resists change.
Just remember - when you are through changing.

Trance States & Inner Rhythms

Techno beats, new tribes forming with new codes andinternal linklanguages, out of internal linkzeros and ones, and electronic pattern forming devices. Edutainment, inner peace through pounding club systems and sensory deprivation, within concrete mazes. You're in an internal linkaltered state, you've relinquished control of something and it feels great. You don't have to feel bad about life, just responsible for making the future a more enjoyable place to be, and you're not the only human that feels the same way. The collective feeling of the trance state is probably akin to Colin Wilson's description of early societies; the ability for individuals to think and act as one in the same way that a flock of birds move internal linkin-formation. The mechanics of this shift in modern times are known to most clubbers or festival goers; drums/repetitive beats, internal linklights/colors (to feel our photovore brains) to sleep deprivation and food choice - by which I mean anything we choose to imbibe. If enough minds and bodies agree to do the same thing, the collective reality of those involved can be changed, or a new one created. It has been argued that everyone is in one form of trance state or another, and many of us are imprisoned in types of repetitive behavior and thought, that if we had the option, we would escape from it. Cleaning out the cobwebs/breaking down the barriers between people every so often is pretty essential to our well being. When we are in a euphoric state, we wonder - how is it possible for us to all feel so different and isolated at one point and yet connected the next?

The four major brainwave cycles measured are

  • internal linkDelta - 1-4 cycles per second (deep sleep).
  • Theta 4-8 (hypnagogic state)
  • internal linkAlpha x8-13 (internal linkaltered states of consciousness/meditation)
  • Beta 13-26 (mental concentration/also stress, anxiety).
Sharply internal linkfocused mental activity means brainwaves of all internal linkfrequencies (desynchronised activity). Non-focused mental attention leads to an increase in Alpha wave activity. This is what causes the interesting trancey stuff and releases us from the bombarded ego that is Western adulthood. If you've taken a substance which is making all your neurons fire, keeping simple time to a 4-4 beat will be a mirror of this internal linkAlpha state.

If you want a natural effect listen to polyrhythms: drum circles, African rhythms, internal linkTibetan and Moroccan music. The internal linkchaotic quality of the shifting natural patterns confuses the brain - as it tries to find the "correct" timing - we decipher our own "beat" within it, the action of doing this forms the non-fucsed, attentive mental state which stimulates internal linkAlpha wave activity.

The other "turn-on" with sound is frequency. This is where the "internal linkchakra" idea comes into it. Bass most strongly affects the lower nerve centers - sexual organs and the stomach. Midrange affects the chest - particularly the heart rate - fastert kick drums can affect the heart and thus manipulate adrenaline levels. Top end and white noise has most effect on the head/brain - as do piercing internal linkacid squeals. And the rest of it - melody, chord progressions, scales, the human voice? These are what influence our more subtle emotional responses which we are highly varied. To mis-quote internal linkTerence McKenna, "we have more words to describe narcotics than we do our emotions", and they seem to be one of the key areas of development of our species.

Any move to a permanent higher consciousness would require greater emotional capacity and understanding of inner rhythms via biofeedback techniques. These techniques enable conscious manipulation of brainwave and body function. This is why people are exploring group trance states in time and space at this period in human internal linkevolution."

Telepatia... ?

Telepatia s.f.

Moonwater strengthens female power, whether used by men or women. The art of preparing Moonwater is ancient; its origins are lost to the darkness of matriarchal history. But the recipe is simple, and as easily done today as by any women who lived thousands of years ago.

Begin by making a careful choice of your container, which could be the same for all the different signs and phases of the moon, or which could vary as the moon does - sometimes large and sometimes small, sometimes bright and sometimes dark. You might even have twelve different ones corresponding to the astrological signs.

Your container needs to be able to hold as much water as you would use up in a month, drinking one sip a day. And, you need to be able to close it tightly, so your moonwater won't evaporate.

On the eve of the full moon, fill the container with fresh water. If you like, add a piece of jewelry or a stone that corresponds to the moon's sign. (I don't have any rules for this, but freely associate what the different signs symbolize.) During the full moon, the moon's sign is opposite the Sun's sign.

Expose your filled container to the full moon for the entire night. Place it outside and in the open where the full moon can shine into it for as many hours as possible. Next morning, take your first sip of moon water. This water that has gathered the moon's energy will be the first thing we consume every day from now until the next full moon. Each morning, on an empty stomach, one more sip is consumed, and we strengthen ourselves with the properties of full moon: creativity, abandon, imagination, wildness, strength, brightness.

I wish you much joy with the water of the moon!

As fases da Lua

The natural cycle of women who live and sleep out in the open away from artificial light is to ovulate on the full moon and menstruate on the new moon. The Taureg women I visit in Africa concur with this. For women of the neon civilization, though, it's almost impossible to follow this moon/menstrual cycle (although it would probably bring about the easiest menstruations, for, as already said, full moon and menstruation at the same time can be an overwhelming experience).
In 1979, an excellently researched special issue of Courage dealt specifically with menstrual blood. In it Louise Lacey, author of Lunaceptions tells how she regulated her ovulation by sleeping three nights out of twenty-nine in light and the others in pitch black.
My observations of the effect of moon phases on menstruation are compiled from the experiences of women I've lived with, worked with, lone workshops with, met over the course of years, or just talked to casually about their bleeding.
When moon phase energies are noticed, and these energies magnified by menstruation, what specific powers can be freed up and made available for use? Can be. I do not say that it must be so, or should be so, or that you will experience it so. Only that it is possible, if you want to work with it.

Waxing Moon Menstruation

Waxing moon is growth, time to learn, listen, and feel. New processes are coming into play, new experiences and events are within reach. Dawn reddens the sky, day begins, air moves, the moon is waxing.

The energy of waxing moon menstruation is inwards, self-nourishing. It' s time to think, to learn, to read. Time to make new discoveries. During this time, you might be open to important learning, and to receiving knowledge from other women.

The animal of the waxing moon menstruation is the raven, who stands for the transference of knowledge and embodies the flight of the soul. Persephone, the goddess who walked the path to the underworld and was initiated into womanly bleeding, is the guardian of this menstrual phase.

Full Moon Menstruation

The full moon is vitality: time to work changes, to make decisions, o show one's power, to bring something into being, to work politically. Noontime heat spreads in waves across the sky, fiery energy at its peak, streaming power evoking earthly blooms.

The energy of full moon menstruation is outward, world-nourishing. You have to be a real bundle of energy to be happy and satisfied with your work under this charged condition. Feasts and celebrations go well with full moon bleeding. During this time, the most powerful magic can be worked and influence exerted. The volcano already pours forth; the ire need only be controlled and directed. Now is the time to learn to transform energy: turn rage into creative action, belly cramps into sensuousness.

The animal of the full moon menstruation is the Phoenix, mythical bird being, who burns to ashes in order to rise anew. Ishtar, the Red Goddess of Babylon is the guardian of this menstrual fire.

Waning Moon Menstruation

The waning moon is a fire that has dwindled, having already given some of its heats to nourish others. Now is the time for persistence, for making reality out of the visions and impulses. The sun sets, darkness settles, the sky fills with the light of countless universes. The moon is waning.

The energy of waning moon bleeding is outward, world-nourishing. lt's the time to tend the blooms of the full moon energy, to create in the world what you have already created in your imagination. Weave your web: substantiate discoveries, verify knowledge, develop your plans and projects, stabilize already existing conditions.

The animal of this waning moon menstruation is the she-bear, who, in old myths is the womb. The energy of the bear is mighty, deep, motherly. The goddess. of this time, Demeter, is responsible for the cycles of life on earth, letting the fruits and grains ripen for harvest, in preparation for the next cycle when she'll withdraw to tend to her own nourishment, letting the earth become barren while she mourns her daughter.

New Moon Menstruation

The new moon is the hidden moon, the dark and mysterious power of the deep. The new moon is the pull inwards. The void sucks energy in and, at the same time, gives all power. During this time, anxieties, memories, and experiences may rise up, eager to be dealt with. Midnight: darkness at it fullest, a velvet ocean, watery womb of all life, the moon is new. The moon breathes in; the belly breathes out.

The energy of new moon bleeding is inwards, self-nourishing, into the cauldron of the woman, the belly, the witches' cauldron, the holy grail. New moon menstruation is a strong time of healing and its element is water. Jt's a good time to take stock, to read old diaries. to look through old photo albums, and to draw conclusions from them. What is built up on the full moon is dissolved on the new moon; that includes binding and releasing spells.

The animal of the new moon menstruation is the toad, with all her knowledge, her slipperiness, her ability to be quite alone, and her untouchable (poisonous) exterior. The goddess of this time is Hecate, the woman at the joining of three roads [also called tri-via], the guardian of mysteries and knowledge, the reaper, the dark one, the crone.

The Moon Lodge

"The Moon Lodge is the place of women, where women gather during their menstrual time to be at-one with each other and the changes ocurring in their bodies. Long ago, during this special time of moon cycles, women were removed from duties of family and allowed to retreat to the Moon Lodge to enyoy the company of their Sisters.

Traditionally, the Moontime is the sacred time of woman when she is honored as a Mother of the Creative Force. During this time she is allowed to release the old energy her body has carried and prepare for reconnection to the Earth Mother's fertility that she will carry in the next Moon or month. Our Ancestors understood the importance of allowing each woman to have her Sacred Space during this time of reconnection, because women were the carriers of abundance and fertility.

As Grandmother Moon is the weaver of tides ( the water or blood of our Earth Mother) so a woman's cycles follow the rhythm of that weaving. When women live together in a common space, their bodies begin to regulate their menses and all will eventually have their Moontime concurrently. This natural rhythm is one of the bonds of Sisterhood.

Women honor their sacred path when they acknowledge the intuitive knowing inherent in their receptive nature. In trusting the cycles of their bodies and allowing the feelings to emerge within them, women have been Seers and Oracles for their tribes for centuries."
